Consider this. In Messiah's kingdom we will be observing the Sabbath and the other laws of Yahweh's instructions.
Isa 66:22 "For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make stand before Me," declares יהוה, "so your seed and your name shall stand. Isa 66:23 "And it shall be that from New Moon to New Moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me," declares יהוה.
Also in the book of Micah we are told the whole of Torah or the instructions of Elohim will be followed in His kingdom. I would encourage you to read it for yourself.
Now, if the Sabbath was observed up until Constantine and the Roman church changed it, All through the OT and then until the first couple of hundred years after Messiah died and rose again, and if it will again be observed in the coming Kingdom, wouldn't you suppose it is intended to be followed even today?
In Ex. we are told the Sabbath is a sign. A sign of what? A sign of being in Covenant. Are we today in a covenant relationship with Elohim? Are we set apart through covenant? Testament is a word that means covenant. the New Testament is actually a renewed covenant based upon the shed blood of Messaih on the stake.
Exo 31:13 "And you, speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘My Sabbaths you are to guard, by all means, for it is a sign1 between Me and you throughout your generations, to know that I, יהוה, am setting you apart. Footnote: 1The only sign of יהוה setting us apart, the only sign of the everlasting covenant, is His Sabbaths, one of them being the seventh day Sabbath. This is repeated in Ezek. 20:12 & 20.
Exo 31:16 ‘And the children of Yisra’ĕl shall guard the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as an everlasting covenant.
Exo 31:17 ‘Between Me and the children of Yisra’ĕl it is a sign forever. For in six days יהוה made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.’ "
Isa 56:1 Thus said יהוה, "Guard right-ruling, and do righteousness, for near is My deliverance to come, and My righteousness to be revealed.
Isa 56:2 "Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it, guarding the Sabbath lest he profane it, and guarding his hand from doing any evil.
Isa 56:6 "Also the sons of the foreigner who join themselves to יהוה, to serve Him, and to love the Name of יהוה, to be His servants, all who guard the Sabbath, and not profane it, and hold fast to My covenant –
Isa 56:7 them I shall bring to My set-apart mountain, and let them rejoice in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their slaughterings are accepted on My altar, for My house is called a house of prayer for all the peoples."
I wonder if you caught that about the foreigner? If we join ourselves to Yahweh Elohim, the Elohim of the scriptures we are to guard the Sabbath. In the words of Ex. 20 we are not to forget the Sabbath. It is a sign forever. A sign of being the set apart people of Elohim.
In the coming days we will look at the Scriptures that teach us when we come to Elohim through Yahshua Messiah we then become a part of Israel. Until then, are you willing to become inconvenienced to follow the Word of Elohim and observe the Sabbath? You may be mocked, you may experience people telling you that you are wrong and should be going to church on Sunday with the rest of those immersed in churchianity. But are you willing to count the cost? Are you willing to GUARD, to do and keep the Sabbath as Yahweh has fully intended?
1Ch 21:24 And Sovereign Dawiḏ said to Ornan, "No, but I shall certainly buy it at the complete price, for I do not take what is yours for יהוה, nor offer a burnt offering without cost."
1Sa 15:22 Then Shemu’ĕl said, "Does יהוה delight in burnt offerings and slaughterings, as in obeying the voice of יהוה? Look, to obey is better than an offering, to heed is better than the fat of rams.
Are we rejecting the Word of Yahweh today by worship on Sunday? But you may say I don't know anyone who observes the 7th day! Does it matter? Should not our hearts desire to be obedient regardless of our personal objections? If you are truly desiring to be obedient you will find you are not totally alone. Yes, being obedient and following can be a lonely road as not many follow the true path, but you will find others on this same path if you are willing to follow. Following the truth is not convenient. It does involve obedience and sacrifice.
