Psa 119:143 Distress and anguish have found me; Your commands are my delight
So if we really believe this, are we actually delighting in our Father's commands or instructions?
Really? What about number 4?
Exo 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day, to set it apart.
Exo 20:9 "Six days you labour, and shall do all your work,
Exo 20:10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath1 of יהוה your Elohim. You do not do any work – you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. Footnote: 1There are other Sabbaths, but this is the weekly Sabbath.
What about number 1?
Exo 20:3 "You have no other mighty ones against My face.
What ever we put before Abba El is a mighty one. It has more influence in our lives that His scriptures or His instructions.
number 2 or 3?
Exo 20:4 "You do not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of that which is in the heavens above, or which is in the earth beneath, or which is in the waters under the earth,
Exo 20:5 you do not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, יהוה your Elohim am a jealous Ěl, visiting the crookedness of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
Exo 20:6 but showing kindness to thousands, to those who love Me and guard My commands.
Exo 20:7 "You do not bring1 the Name of יהוה your Elohim to naught, for יהוה does not leave the one unpunished who brings His Name to naught
If we follow this and link it to other instructions from Scripture we find we are not to do or add to the Worship of Yahweh Elohim those ways of the heathen around Israel. This is an abomination to Him. When we add things to the worship of Elohim. We are telling Him we do not care about what He thinks. We try to convince ourselves it is ok because He knows our hearts. In reality we do not know His heart. What we think does not matter to Him. What should matter is what He thinks.
We are to worship Elohim is Spirit and in truth. When we celebrate Christmas it is a heathen celebration we are adding to the worship of Elohim. Our hearts are so hard with this vain tradition we only care about what we think and fool ourselves by saying it is ok because He knows our hearts. It is His heart that truly matters, not ours. The same thing with the celebration of Easter. We need to wake up and look at what Scripture truly teaches and not have our ears tickled.
Sorry for the rant. Now I will turn to look at Ps. 19 Have we really stopped to consider the words here? What is to be so deeply desired?
More to come as I do a study.
