Filled with hot air

We had a hot air balloon land almost in our back yard.  We watched it for a little bit before we realized it was coming down.  It landed one mile south of us so we piled in the van and headed in that direction.  When we arrived it was down and the pilot was getting ready to let the air out.  He told us to join him in helping to put it away.  So here are the pictures of our adventure.
 It's coming down!!

 picture perfect landing
 letting the air out

 squeezing out the air
holding the balloon off the ground so it does not twist

 putting the top back in
 wrapping up the balloon

it all fits in this bag

 making room for more balloon

The basket can hold 350 pounds or 3 people
He offered to show the homeschool group the airport and plane hanger which is just about 3 miles from us.

Prairie Fire

Ok, I am playing catch up now with pictures from things that have happened over the last couple of months.  Today I am posting pictures of a grass fire.  The field behind our house was purposely set on fire so that a different type of grass could be planted.  In a different corner of the ranch property another field was set.  I could see the smoke from this one over 30 miles away.  I was on my way to pick up supplies for the barns at the time.
For the field behind the house, Laurie and the girls were at home and took pictures.  I kind of think this was what a prairie fire would look and feel like.  Laurie said even inside they could actually still feel the heat from the fire which ended about 50 yards from the house.  The smoke was overwhelming and the speed at which it traveled was incredible.

Cloud Pictures

The lamb is across from the eyes and forehead of the lion.  The first angel is part of the chest of the lamb
the second angel is above the forhead of the lion
The dove is above and to the back of the lion's head

The wolf or snake which ever you see is in the upper right clouds.

Lion of Judah

I finished a painting.  I am not sure what to title it yet.  Lion of Judah, the coming king, the king comes...open to suggestions.
