John and Sarah

Deu 6:4  “Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!

Deu 6:5  “And you shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might.

Deu 6:6  “And these Words which I am commanding you today shall be in your heart,

Psa 19:7 The Torah of יהוה is perfect, converting the soul: The testimony of יהוה is trustworthy, making wise the simple;

Psa 19:8 The statutes of יהוה are right, rejoicing the heart; The command of יהוה is pure, enlightening the eyes;

Psa 19:9 The fear of יהוה is clean, standing forever; The judgments or right-rulings of יהוה are true, They are righteous altogether,

Psa 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Psa 19:11 Also, Your servant is warned by them, and in guarding them there is great reward.

Psa 1:1 To be envied with desire is the man who does not walk after the plans or counsels of the wicked nor remains standing in attendance with those who sin habitually, nor sits in assembly with those who mock Elohim. But he takes joy in the Torah of Yahveh and nourishes his mind upon it day and night

M Race translation

Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Gen 2:15  And יהוה Elohim took the man and put him in the garden of Ěḏen to work it and to guard it.

Gen 2:16  And יהוה Elohim commanded the man, saying, “Eat of every tree of the garden,

Gen 2:17  but do not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for in the day that you eat of it you shall certainly die.”

Gen 2:18  And יהוה Elohim said, “It is not good for the man to be alone, I am going to make a helper for him, as his counterpart.”

Pro 18:22 He who has found a wife has found a good thing, And receives favour from יהוה.

Pro 31:10 Who does find a capable wife? For she is worth far more than rubies.

Pro 31:11 The heart of her husband shall trust her, And he has no lack of gain.

Pro 31:12 She shall do him good, and not evil, All the days of her life.

Pro 31:25 Strength and splendour are her garments, And she rejoices in time to come.

Pro 31:26 She shall open her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the Torah of kindness.

Pro 31:27 She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.

Pro 31:28 Her children shall rise up and call her blessed; Her husband too, and he praises her:

Pro 31:29 "Many daughters have done nobly, But you have risen over them all."

Pro 31:30 Loveliness is deceptive And prettiness is vain, A woman who fears יהוה is to be praised.

Pro 31:31 Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates.

Eph 5:25  Husbands, love your wives, as Messiah also did love the assembly and gave Himself for it,

Eph 5:26  in order to set it apart and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word,1 Footnote: 1Rev. 19:8-9.

Eph 5:27  in order to present it to Himself a splendid assembly, not having spot or wrinkle or any of this sort, but that it might be set-apart and blameless.

Eph 5:28  In this way husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

Eph 5:29  For no one ever hated his own flesh, but feeds and cherishes it, as also the Master does the assembly.

Eph 5:30  Because we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.

Eph 5:31  “For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”

Psa 127:1

If יהוה does not build the house, Its builders have laboured in vain. If יהוה does not guard the city, The watchman has stayed awake in vain.

Psa 127:2 In vain do you rise up early, To sit up late, to eat the bread of toil; So He gives His beloved sleep.

Psa 127:3 Look, children are an inheritance from יהוה, The fruit of the womb is the reward.

Psa 127:4 As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, So are the children of one’s youth.

Psa 127:5 Blessed is the man Who has filled his quiver with them. They are not ashamed, When they speak with their enemies in the gate.

Gen 2:21  So יהוה Elohim caused a deep sleep to fall on the man, and he slept. And He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.

Gen 2:22  And the rib which יהוה Elohim had taken from the man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.

Gen 2:23  And the man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. This one is called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of man.”

Gen 2:24  For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Eph 5:22  Wives, subject yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Master.

Eph 5:23  Because the husband is head of the wife, as also the Messiah is head of the assembly, and He is Saviour of the body.

Eph 5:24  But as the assembly is subject to Messiah, so also let the wives be to their own husbands in every respect.

Psa 128:1 Blessed are all who fear יהוה, Who walk in His ways.

Psa 128:2 You shall eat the labour of your hands. Be blessed, and let it be well with you.

Psa 128:3 Let your wife be As a fruit-bearing vine within your house, Your sons like olive plants all around your table.

Psa 128:4 Look, so shall the man be blessed Who fears יהוה.

Psa 128:5 יהוה shall bless you out of Tsiyon, And let you see the good of Yerushalayim All the days of your life,

Psa 128:6 And let you see your children’s children! Peace be upon Yisra’ĕl!

Joshua 24:15

choose for yourselves this day whom you are going to serve,... but as for me and my house, we will serve יהוה."

Jos 4:4 And Yehoshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the children of Yisra’ĕl, one man from every tribe,

Jos 4:5 and Yehoshua said to them, "Pass over before the ark of יהוה your Elohim into the midst of the Yardĕn, and each one of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Yisra’ĕl,

Jos 4:6 so that this shall be a sign in your midst when your children ask in time to come, saying, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’

Jos 4:7 "Then you shall answer them...

These things are very important to Yahveh Elohim. They are important markers in our lives. He desires us to share our memories of the great things He has done for us with our children and our children's children so they too will have a desire to serve Him.  These stones are memorials.

Memorials, Stones

I promised Sarah I would try to keep this under an hour as they have only allotted me about 10 minutes. So, in order to stay within the time frame there are many things I must omit and leave to be told another day.

John and Sarah, so many times in Scripture we are called to remember and to tell our children, when they ask, those things that Elohim has done for us. I would like to thank you for allowing me this opportunity to remember with you and those here the mighty acts of Yahveh our Elohim in our lives, specifically those associated with Sarah.  I want you all to know we serve a prayer hearing Elohim. He is not deaf to our requests or desires.

1.     First: Sarah would not be here today if Yahveh had not responded to my prayer and request for a wife who desired to serve Him. Laurie and I have always believed it was Elohim who brought us together. That belief has never once faltered in our marriage.

2.     Second: Sarah is a prayed for daughter. As Yahveh Elohim did not bless my parents with a daugther and I had always desired a sister, I prayed for a daughter. Yahveh chose to bless me with Sarah. John, let me caution you here. Be careful of what you pray for as Yahveh does have a sense of humor. He not only blessed me with Sarah, he also blessed me with 8 other daughters and only one son.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade any of my daughters, as they are all blessings and I believe as each one desires to serve Yahveh with their whole hearts they will accomplish much for His kingdom.

3.       Third:  While awaiting Sarah’s birth I was also praying for other things.

A.    The prayer of my heart was that this child, Sarah, that her heart’s desire would match the desire of my heart.  That this child would desire to serve Yahveh our Elohim with her whole heart.

B.    That brings me to another stone John, you.  John, you are a prayed for husband.  Since Sarah’s birth I knew she would be in need of a husband.  So 26 years ago I began to pray Elohim would provide in His time.  I knew not just any man would do for this girl whose heart would desire to serve Yahveh.  My prayer was that Elohim would provide a like-minded, set apart man whose one desire in life would be that of serving Yahveh Elohim with his whole heart.  I prayed for your protection throughout your life.  I prayed for your spiritual growth and understanding in the Scriptures.  I prayed that you would be a suitable man of Yahveh Elohim for this help-meet that Elohim would be prepairing for you.  As Laurie and I attempted to raise Sarah in the nurture and admonition of Yahveh, in training and discipling her, I was very much aware of this future need and bathed it in prayer over the years.

C.   The final stone I would like to mention is this:  Every single one of the children and grandchildren Yahveh Elohim chooses to bless you with are prayed for children.  Since the time Sarah was born her children and grandchildren have been in my prayers.  It has been, it is and will continue to be my prayer as Yahveh blesses you in your marriage and in the family He gives you, each and every child will have their hearts desire be that of serving Yahveh Elohim totally and completely.  My prayer is that not one will be lost, that not one will seek his own way.  That each and every one will make a difference for eternity.
