Why did Yashua have to die?

I love going and re-examining what I believe!  Why did Yeshua have to die (was it for mercy?  how about forgiveness? you will be surprised).  Enjoy as much as I did searching!  You are loved – brother Kyle

Before and after Yeshua (Jesus)
“Why did the Son have to die?”

(Comments in parentheses and emphasis within Scriptures are mine.)

What an amazing thing, this sacrificial system that was set up.  As I’ve said before, we owe it to the Son of God to understand the true significance of the sacrifice He made for us.  So, why exactly did He die?

-      Was it so we could be forgiven or atoned for?  No, those who repented were forgiven even before He died & rose for us:  “…Thus the priest shall make atonement for him in regard to his sin which he has committed, and he shall be forgiven.” (Leviticus 4:35)

-      Was it so that we could finally be shown mercy, grace, and compassion?  No, they were shown mercy, grace, and compassion even before He died & rose for us:  “YHVH is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.”  (Psalm 103:8) and “YHVH is gracious and merciful; Slow to anger and great in lovingkindness.”  (Psalm 145:8) just to name a few!

-      Was it so that they could have faith (be justified)?  No, they were saved by faith in YHVH’s Salvation, as well:  “Then he believed in YHVH; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness.”  (Genesis 15:6)

I am not saying that His blood does not do any of the above, but it is clear from His Word that they were not absent before that happened.   So many people claim to be “saved by the blood”, yet know nothing about what the blood does.  We are going to concentrate on one of the main reasons His blood WAS needed.  It was to take away our sins.  The following passages show that a child of God will NOT disobey His Father’s Laws / commands:

They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.”  (Titus 1:16)

“By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 The one who says, ‘I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: 6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”  (1 John 2:3-6)  I believe that Yeshua walked in obedience to every one of His Father’s Laws or else He would not have been the perfect Lamb of God.  What do you believe?  Since we are God’s children, brothers of Yeshua, we should walk as HE walked!

WE CAN FINALLY DO WHAT THOSE BEFORE HAD A HARD TIME DOINGH:
SHED OUR SINS!

The worshipper before Yeshua was not cleansed within (only externally).  The worshipper before Yeshua was not “being made perfect”.  This has NOTHING to do with their desire to walk in His ways … NOTHING to do with living a lifestyle that pleased YHVH … NOTHING to do with being able to turn their hearts to His perfect Laws.  It has to do with the conscience and taking away sins.  If the system of animal sacrifices COULD do what the Spirit does today, then the sacrificial system would have stopped doing the sacrifices … they would have stopped sinning!  The sacrifice would no longer have been needed!  Their sins would have been taken away.

For the Law (regarding animal sacrifices), since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near. 2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins? 3 But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year. 4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.”  (Hebrews 10:1-4) It is clear that we have something that they (those living by faith before Yeshua) did not have.

In order to be forgiven, one must repent (be sorry for and turn from his sins).  Today, however, so many who claim to be Christians have no idea what God’s Laws even are, so they feel no need to repent.  They do not read the Laws (as Paul exhorted them to restrain from certain acts, because they read the Law … Acts 15:21)  Adam was created in God’s image … when Adam fell, that man and his offspring were no longer in God’s image.  His desire is to get us, His children, BACK to that stage … into His image!

“For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;”  (Romans 8:29)

“and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.”  (Ephesians 4:23-24)  This passage continues and says, “Therefore, stop sinning!”  The new self, by turning away from sin, is in the likeness of God!  I am being careful in what I say, but it is possible to stop sinning (NOT on my strength, but YHVH’s Spirit’s strength given through the Son’s blood to those who believe)!  Adam was sinless when He was created.  That is how God intended mankind to be.  The Laws of our Holy God are NOT too difficult!  Although none of us have or will achieve this perfect state on this side of eternal life, if we claim to be filled with His Spirit, we had better start acting like we are a new creation!  We should be sinning less and less if we are true believers.  Then we will be CONFORMED into His image!

“No one who is born (conceived) of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born (conceived) of God.”  (1 John 3:9)

For it is also written:  “Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”  (Matthew 5:48)

This is NOT a spiritual state of ‘Oh, Our Father sees us through His Son.  Therefore, He does not see our sin, but Jesus’ righteousness” This is HOGWASH!  (Get it?  We look like unclean Hogs … wash up!)  We are justified in the blood (been atoned for … been forgiven) … but … if we believe what we have professed, then we also believe that we have sinned!  Repent and turn from your sin and allow the Spirit to teach you the Law and how to live by it.  I just don’t see how people can call themselves children of the Most High God when they continue to disregard His Laws He has given to His children.  Many misuse John 13:34 but do not realize is THAT would be a sin to do so … Deuteronomy 4:2.  YHVH is not an old man whose eyes have become weakened over the years!!  Sin is transgressing His Laws (Law-LESS-ness … get it?) and His Laws are what determine what He considers to be a sin:

“And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.  4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.”  (1 John 3:3-4)  While on this earth, we must bear the fruit of obedience which proves that His Spirit is truly within us.  We must start practicing His Laws … practice MAKES perfect!  Those before Yeshua hoped for this!  They KNEW it was coming, for it is written:

I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.”  (Ezekiel 36:27)

“(for the Law (regarding animal sacrifices) made nothing perfect), and on the other hand there is a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.”  (Hebrews 7:19)  They drew near to God through their sacrifices.  We draw near to the same God, but through a better sacrifice:  Yeshua.  So what is the difference?  If BOTH sacrifices could draw the worshipper near to God, then why would He have to send His Son to die?  As I said, it has to do with sin!!  They sacrificed, but their sins were only covered!  Ours are supposed to be taken away if we TRULY believe that we have sinned and are sorry:

For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works (sin) to serve the living God?”  (Hebrews 9:13-14)  Just as the priest could NOT serve in the temple if he was defiled, we must shed our sins (thus proving that the Spirit is in us) and serve the living God!

“And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised, 40 because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect.”  (Hebrews 11:30-40)

CONCLUSION:

I am NOT saying that I am perfect and do not sin.  BUT, like Paul says, I live a lifestyle that puts YHVH’s Laws as my guide, knowing that He will save me through His Salvation!  “Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.”  (Romans 3:31)

Why do so many people, today, CONTINUE to offer the blood of Jesus, and yet continue in the same sins repeatedly?  These worshippers might as well go back to sacrificing animals and stop trampling the blood of the Son!  HIS blood does not cover the sins, but is supposed to take the sin away!  His blood is to cleanse us of our sins, thus making us perfect as He is perfect!  We should strive to get to the point where we no longer need His blood for sin, but only for Salvation!  To truly know the Son and His purpose, we MUST learn the ways of the Father:  “Yeshua (Jesus) answered, ‘You know neither Me nor My Father; IF you knew Me, you would know My Father also.’”  (John 8:19)

We must show that we are no longer slaves to sin by our obedience to the Laws of YHVH (just as His Son did and told us to do).  Only then do we start to look like what He requires of His children:

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus).”  (Philippians 1:6)

“Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Messiah Yeshua (Jesus).  13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,”  (Philippians 3:12-13)

We can see clearly that Yeshua came for many reasons.  But HE does what the animal sacrifices could not … deal with sin where it starts … in our hearts (minds).  Think about it.  “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.”  (Ezekiel 36:27)  Get to know what pleases YHVH … This is what obedient children do out of their love and faith!  Period.  I know that the dragon (Satan) is enraged at me.  Is He enraged at you?  Stand against Satan’s plan to lull the church into believing that a life of lawlessness is what God wants of His children:

“So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Yeshua (Jesus).”  (Revelation 12:17)

I am simply the messenger.  I write and share with my brothers and sisters in order to spur them on in the Truth as they also do with me.  Blessings.
