When we follow the instuctions of Elohim for His bride (bridal covenant) something wonderful happens.  We learn that He is trustworthy and worthy of worship.  How does this happen?  I think if we look into Deuteronomy 7 we can find the answer for that.Deu 7:9 "And you shall know that יהוה your Elohim, He is Elohim, the trustworthy Ěl guarding covenant and kindness for a thousand generations with those who love Him, and those who guard His commands,
It is only when we chose to guard His instructions to us that He then promises to guard us
In this way we learn that He is not only trustworthy but that His Word is truth and He is true to His word.  Faith comes in here.  We must believe as we continue to be obedient to His instructions that He will then be true to His Word.  And just how does this give us wisdom?  We can find the answer to that in the Proverbs.  Pro 1:7 The fear of יהוה is the beginning of knowledge1; Fools despise wisdom and discipline.

Footnote: 1See 9:10, Ps. 111:10.
Pro 2:6 For יהוה

gives wisdom; Out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Pro 9:10 The fear of יהוה is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Set-apart One is understanding1. Footnote: See 1:7.

If we desire this wisdom, it comes through the fear of Yahweh.  If we truly fear or esteem  Him we will desire to be obedient to His instructions for His set apart people.  The people He has called to be a people to Himself.

Please note this all begins only in one way by following Torah.  Not following Torah just on the outside.  But first of all having the inner man changed through faith in the atoning work of Yahshua.  Then we are obedient out of a love for His Word.  Following Torah is done because we love Him.  It is a demonstration of that love.

If you love Me, you shall guard My commands
Joh 14:23 יהושע answered him, "If anyone loves Me, he shall guard My Word. And My Father shall love him, and We shall come to him and make Our stay with him.
Joh 14:24 "He who does not love Me does not guard My Words. And the Word which you hear is not Mine but of the Father Who sent Me.
Joh 14:25 "These Words I have spoken to you while still with you.
Joh 14:26 "But the Helper, the Set-apart Spirit, whom the Father shall send in My Name, He shall teach you all, and remind you of all that I said to you.

Joh 14:27 "Peace I leave with you – My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

1Jn 2:3 And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commands.1 Footnote: 1See 3:6.
1Jn 2:4 The one who says, "I know Him," and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1Jn 2:5 But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected1 in him. By this we know that we are in Him.2 Footnotes: 1Gen. 17:1, Ps. 119:1, Mt. 5:48. 2See 3:24.
1Jn 2:6 The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked.

1Jn 2:7 Beloved, I write no fresh command to you, but an old command which you have had from the beginning. The old command is the Word which you heard from the beginning.1 Footnote: 1See v. 24.

Do you know Him?  Do you love Him?  Do you guard His commands?  For the definition of Guard see this page...

Do you meet the requirements?  What needs to change in your life to meet the requirements?
What is the measure that Scripture tells us shows us we love Him?  What happens then if we are lying to ourselves?  Please reread I Jn 2:3-6 very carefully.  Your future may depend upon it.

Torah, why stumble over it?

To understand where we are at, at this point please read this first
http://myksheartsathome.blogspot.com/2013/11/ps-197ff.html

So then so far with the first part of verse 7 we find the Torah means so much more than just plain "law".  The Torah is that which points us in the right direction to walk for our lives. It leads us with instruction that would be wise to follow as it is Yahweh Elohim's instruction for His set-apart people.  Not only that, the Torah is PERFECT.  It is that which converts the soul.  Being perfect it is whole and without blemish.  It was never intended to provide us with our salvation by following it.  Salvation is that which can only be obtained by faith, the inward working of Abba in our hearts, minds and souls.  The Law is the outward working of our faith.  Yahshua told us in the New Testament that if we love him (having obtained our salvation through faith) we will obey His commands (showing our faith through following His instructions for our set-apart lives).
The LAW brings us back or converts us to following the instructions of our Abba or Heavenly Daddy.  Why then would we be so quick to say the Law does not apply to us today?  It is the instructions given to us by our Father who is in Heaven.  They are dear to His heart.  If we truly desire to please Him then why tell ourselves we don't have to follow His instructions?  So many people enjoy the Psalms of David yet they stumble over the many times he says how precious is the Torah, law, instructions.
Psa 1:1 Blessed is the man who shall not walk in the counsel of the wrong, And shall not stand in the path of sinners, And shall not sit in the seat of scoffers,
Psa 1:2 But his delight is in the Torah of יהוה, And he meditates in His Torah day and night.

Psa 1:3 For he shall be as a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That yields its fruit in its season, And whose leaf does not wither, And whatever he does prospers.

Joh 14:15 "If you love Me, you shall guard My commands.1Jn 2:3 And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commands.1 Footnote: 1See 3:6. 1Jn 2:4 The one who says, "I know Him," and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1Jn 2:5 But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected1 in him. By this we know that we are in Him

LAW:
We have rendered Torah as "Torah," rather than translating it by an English word, thereby retaining the force and flavour of the original, as it appears in its various contexts. While the closest English word is the traditional "law" (and that is the rendering given in the Greek text of the Messianic Scriptures, from the Greek word nomos), the word Torah is far wider in meaning. It derives from the word yarah which carries the meanings "to cast," "to lay foundations," "to sprinkle," "to water," "to send out the hand," "to show," "to indicate," "to teach," "to instruct" (Gesenius). The word Torah is used in reference to precepts, commands, statutes, judgments, rules, whether in the singular or in groups. Understandably then, it carries the additional meanings of "body of law," "body of instruction," etc., and is used to refer also to the entire content of the Ḥumash, the first five books of the Tanaḵ (see Preface). Indeed, when context indicates that the "law of יהוה" is being referred to, the primary reference is to the Ḥumash.
Much of the Torah involves commands, laws, right-rulings, statutes, etc., which relate to a properly constituted society, such as that which prevailed under Mosheh or under the sovereigns of Yisra'ĕl. As such, laws which clearly apply within a civil or national context are not to be misapplied by individuals living in a society that is not totally subject to the Torah as its constitution and legal code. Thus for example, you may not decide to stone someone to death for desecrating the sabbath. The decision would have to be made by a judge within the framework of such a Torah-based nation. Clearly then, although these laws are still applicable, since the context in which they are to be applied is lacking at present, they can only be applied when such a Torah-true nation comes into existence (for example, when Messiah returns to set up his Kingdom).

Songs We Sing

Contemplating 2 things.  1.  Trying to memorize Ps. 19 and thinking through a Psalm my son posted on his facebook.  As I am trying to memorize the 19th Psalm my mind goes to the songs we sang while growing up in church.  Did we really think about the words to what we were singing?  If we did would we be embracing the commands of Elohim today?  How much do we really think about the Scriptures we sing?

Psa 119:143 Distress and anguish have found me; Your commands are my delight

So if we really believe this, are we actually delighting in our Father's commands or instructions?

Really?  What about number 4?
Exo 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day, to set it apart.
Exo 20:9 "Six days you labour, and shall do all your work,
Exo 20:10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath1 of יהוה your Elohim. You do not do any work – you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. Footnote: 1There are other Sabbaths, but this is the weekly Sabbath.
Exo 20:11 "For in six days יהוה made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore יהוה blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart.

What about number 1?
Exo 20:3 "You have no other mighty ones against My face.
What ever  we put before Abba El is a mighty one.  It has more influence in our lives that His scriptures or His instructions.

number 2 or 3?
Exo 20:4 "You do not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of that which is in the heavens above, or which is in the earth beneath, or which is in the waters under the earth,
Exo 20:5 you do not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, יהוה your Elohim am a jealous Ěl, visiting the crookedness of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
Exo 20:6 but showing kindness to thousands, to those who love Me and guard My commands.

Exo 20:7 "You do not bring1 the Name of יהוה your Elohim to naught, for יהוה does not leave the one unpunished who brings His Name to naught

If we follow this and link it to other instructions from Scripture we find we are not to do or add to the Worship of Yahweh Elohim those ways of the heathen around Israel.  This is an abomination to Him.  When we add things to the worship of Elohim.   We are telling Him we do not care about what He thinks.  We try to convince ourselves it is ok because He knows our hearts.  In reality we do not know His heart.  What we think does not matter to Him.  What should matter is what He thinks.
We are to worship Elohim is Spirit and in truth.  When we celebrate Christmas it is a heathen celebration we are adding to the worship of Elohim.  Our hearts are so hard with this vain tradition we only care about what we think and fool ourselves by saying it is ok because He knows our hearts.  It is His heart that truly matters, not ours.  The same thing with the celebration of Easter.  We need to wake up and look at what Scripture truly teaches and not have our ears tickled.
Sorry for the rant.  Now I will turn to look at Ps. 19

Have we really stopped to consider the words here?  What is to be so deeply desired?
More to come as I do a study.

The 7 Churches and today

Here is another interesting post from our friend Kyle in MI.

Kinda makes you think what we have been taught through man’s interpretations (enjoy)

“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.”

(Revelation 1:3)

11 / 16 / 13
(Comments in parentheses and emphasis within Scriptures are mine.)

First thoughts:

I was always told that “through the blood of Jesus I am forgiven for any wrong that I do, have done, and WILL do as long as I trust in Him for my Salvation.  (Meaning: In Him, I no longer need to worry about the Laws as given by God to Moses).  I am going to give you a nutshell summary of what Yeshua (Jesus) tells the seven churches in the book of Revelation which is about a time in the future.  I put down what He finds in them that is good … what is lacking … and then, for some, what will be the consequence if they do not repent (turn away from their lawlessness).  We should be inspired to imitate what He says is good and rid our lives of what is not pleasing to Him.  The Holy Spirit’s job is to sanctify.  May we all allow Him (the Spirit) to eliminate that which is NOT good in His eyes and repent from these deeds (no longer do them):

Church one:

Good: They toil and persevere to do good … they cannot tolerate evil men (those who do not obey God) … they test those who call themselves apostles (yet are not and are found to be liars) … they endure and persevere for the name of God.

Bad:  They no longer do it out of the love they had at the beginning, but more as a routine.

Warning: IF they do not repent and turn and do the obedience they did at first … they will die (their lampstand will be removed).  If you are obeying God or worshipping Him because of what others are doing or out of a routine obedience … they are dead acts.

Church two:

Good:  They go through tribulations and accept their poverty as a way of life to give Him glory… they are ridiculed by those who call themselves Jews (believers) and are not.

Bad:  There is nothing mentioned.  Instead, they are being told it will get even worse, but if they are faithful until death, they will receive salvation.

Warning: (none)

Church three:

Good: They held fast to His name and did not deny their faith even as some were killed among them that believed (During this, they did not turn away)

Bad:  There were some who held to the teaching of Balaam and set stumbling blocks before God’s people (Israel).  Balaam’s quest was to make Israel turn from YHVH’s teaching by making them mingle with unbelievers.  So that they would not obey His commands / Laws (such as eating things sacrificed to idols and to commit acts of immorality).  Isn’t that what many are teaching today?  It is okay to live without the Laws “through Jesus” (This is a stumbling block).

Warning: IF they do not repent (turn away from such false teachings) Yah will make war against them with a sword in His mouth.

Church four:

Good: Their obedience is known and they are obeying more than they did at first.  They have love, faith, service, and perseverance.

Bad:  Although they obey and do all of the above, they tolerate the woman Jezebel and her teachings that lead the men astray and into committing acts of immorality and eating things sacrificed to idols.  There should not even be a HINT of sexual immorality among us.  Do not tolerate it.

Warning: IF they do not repent and turn from her teaching, they will be thrown into the great tribulation.  Notice that although they obey and do all those things, just ONE thing that He abhors will cast them away:  tolerating a sinful influence.  The conclusion about this church is each will receive according to what they do (no wonder Satan wants us to believe we are no longer bound by the Law).  Do you not find it interesting that those who keep YHVH’s Law until the end (“keeps My deeds until the end”) will be given authority?

Church five:

Bad: (since there are no good except those few who have not soiled their garments with intentional sins):  They are simply told, they THINK they are alive in Him, but He is telling them that they are dead because of their lack of obedience (deeds).  They are told to wake up because their obedience (deeds) are NOT complete in the sight of God.

Those who are called good (practice the Laws as part of their life): THEY are worthy.

Note: Those who overcome the lies of man and the beast who try to change the Laws and the appointments … Daniel 7:25 … they will be worthy for Salvation

Church six:

Good:  They have kept God’s Word, but are being worn out.  They have not denied the name of YHVH.  But BECAUSE they have kept His Word, they will be kept from the hour of testing which is about to come upon the whole world.

Bad:  There is none mentioned.  They are told they are loved because they hold fast to the Word of God and protect His Laws.  They are told to continue to persevere … for they will be made a pillar in the temple of God.

Church seven:

Good:  There are none mentioned about them.

Bad:  These people SAY they love God, but by their actions, they deny Him.  They are called lukewarm and will be spit out of the mouth of God in the end.

They SAY they are rich, but they are wretched, miserable and poor (naked and blinded).

Warning: They are being told that they are still loved, but only if they repent (turn from the lives without the Law) and become zealous.

CONCLUSION:

I find it very interesting as The Day draws near, it IS all about what we do out of our faith!  Many can SAY, “I love Him”, but because they did not obey His Laws but believed the man of lawlessness who has changed the appointments (From HIS Feasts to man-made ones) and Laws (Sunday is now Sabbath, eat what we want, and so forth) they will be cast into the lake of fire.  Words of faith do not save anyone … it is what we DO out of our faith that makes our salvation complete (I will show you my faith by what I do...

“But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude (deceive) themselves.”  (James 1:22)

Looking back at the seven churches, now we can see WHY YHVH is so upset (and was upset when our forefathers turned away from obeying Him.  He does not want hearts of rebellion in the coming Kingdom.  He had those kind of hearts in His Kingdom before.  He is NOT looking for perfection, but hearts bent on practicing whatever He asks us to do (and not doing what He asks us NOT to do).
